PUBLIC HEARING - CODE CHANGES
The City of Bend held a “virtual” public hearing before the Bend City Council on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. A recording of the meeting can be found at http://www.bendoregon.gov/councilagenda project number PL 20-0778.
Bend Development Code (BDC) amendments to Chapters 1.2, Definitions, 2.7, Special Planned Districts, Refinement Plans, Area Plans and Master Plans, 3.4, Public Improvement Standards, and 4.7, Transportation Analysis. The proposed amendments are primarily to Article XI, Juniper Ridge Overlay Zone and they also include amendments to the BDC that address lanes that are “not authorized for lane expansion”. There was an earlier notice in October for this short term rental application. The only difference I note is that it was previously identified as 5- bedroom house, and current notice for the same address calls it 4- bedroom. Comment period now ends December 30, 2020. You can review the application and proposal in the Online Permit Center Portal on the City of Bend website at www.bendoregon.gov/permitcenter. Open the Portal and select the Application Search link under the Planning & Historic header, then enter the project number PL20-0682 in the search bar to find the project. If you have questions please email the assigned Planner.

The City of Bend Hearings Officer approved the cell tower on public right of way near 3204 NE Spring Creek Place (between 27th and Eagle Rd.). This will be a 30' metal pole with accompanying hardware. A virtual hearing was held August 3rd. See here for more details.

The City has received the application for 130-acre phased development, NE of Mountain New Neighborhood Association's boundary. The Petrosa Master Planned Development is a proposed development in the Bend Urban Growth Boundary Northeast Expansion Area, bounded by Deschutes Market Road, Butler Market Road, and the future extension of Yeoman Road. The development plan intends to provide approximately 1,100 housing units (single-family, townhomes, fourplexes, apartments and mixed-use), and will offer a complete community development that includes commercial uses, an elementary school and parks. There have been 2 public neighborhood meetings about this. Comment period ended May 11, 2020. Follow instructions to see complete details on the City website eplans.
